1. The short version
- Lume is a personal planner for people aged 13+; parental consent is required where local law says so.
- You keep your content. Your license lets you use Lume personally under these Terms and Apple’s applicable rules.
- Lume Plus is a monthly or yearly auto-renewing Apple subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- AI, energy, mood, sleep and cycle features offer suggestions, not medical advice or guaranteed results. You decide what to do.
- Moldovan law governs our agreement, while mandatory consumer rights and Apple’s required terms remain protected.
Version 1.0 · Effective October 25, 2026. EN and RU have the same substance; neither translation removes mandatory rights.
2. Your agreement with us
These Terms govern the Lume app, website and related services provided by Surovtev Alexandr, individual entrepreneur, Republic of Moldova (“we” or “us”). Contact: [email protected].
By using Lume, you agree to these Terms where that form of acceptance is legally valid. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The Privacy Policy explains data processing; accepting these Terms is not a substitute for any separate privacy consent. No Lume account is required.
3. Age and eligibility
You must be 13 or older. If local law requires parental consent for online services until a higher age, that requirement applies. If you cannot independently enter a binding agreement, your parent or legal guardian must agree where required. Do not use Lume in breach of applicable law or export restrictions.
4. License and Apple terms
We grant a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for Apple devices you own or control, subject to App Store Usage Rules. Lume is licensed, not sold.
Apple’s Standard EULA applies to the iOS app and prevails where required. These Terms govern services between you and the operator; they do not override Apple’s required terms, including those governing your relationship with Apple. Any applicable minimum developer-EULA requirements remain effective. We provide app support and handle app-related claims; Apple’s obligations remain those required by its terms and law. Apple and its subsidiaries retain any applicable third-party-beneficiary rights.
5. Your content and local copies
You keep your rights in tasks, habits, notes and other content. You are responsible for having the rights or permission needed to enter information about other people or submit it for optional processing. We need only the limited permission to process content you choose to submit to deliver and secure the requested feature, as described in the Privacy Policy; we do not acquire ownership of it.
Most planner data exists only on your device. Use the JSON export in Settings and protect exported files and backups. We cannot recover local records we never received. Health and cycle stores are excluded from the general export; deleting Lume data does not delete originals in Apple Health. Mandatory remedies for data loss remain unaffected.
6. Lume Plus subscriptions
Lume offers free features and Lume Plus, sold through Apple’s App Store as monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions. The purchase screen identifies the included features, billing period, price, currency and any offer before you confirm. Core data controls, including viewing, correcting, exporting and deleting your data, do not require Plus. Subscription expiry does not itself erase your local history or renew a privacy consent you withdrew.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm purchase, subject to any trial terms shown.
- The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current subscription or trial period ends.
- Apple charges your account for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends, at the applicable renewal price.
- A free trial may be offered to eligible users. Its duration, eligibility, renewal price and other conditions are those shown in the App Store before purchase. Unless canceled in time, the trial converts to the paid subscription shown there. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or at Apple Subscriptions. Deleting Lume, erasing data or emailing us does not cancel billing. Access normally continues until the paid period ends; Apple may end a canceled trial earlier.
- Restore eligible purchases using the app’s restore-purchases control and the Apple Account used to buy them. RevenueCat verifies subscription access; it does not replace Apple’s billing system.
- Billing, cancellation and refund requests are handled by Apple. Request a refund at Apple’s refund service. Statutory withdrawal, refund and other consumer rights remain available; we do not impose a blanket no-refund rule.
Price changes follow Apple’s notices and consent requirements and applicable law. Buy based on the features offered at purchase; do not rely on a promised future feature. See Support for purchase help.
7. Wellbeing is not medical advice
Lume supports planning and self-reflection. Energy, mood, sleep, cycle-aware planning and related insights are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or a medical device. They do not assess your health or predict fertility, ovulation or pregnancy. Patterns and estimates may be incomplete or wrong.
Do not use Lume to make medical decisions, delay professional care or manage an emergency. Consult a qualified professional for health concerns and local emergency services for urgent danger. Lume does not monitor you or provide crisis response.
8. Focus and app blocking
“No Distractions” relies on Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls and the permissions you grant. It is a voluntary focus aid, not a guarantee that every distraction will be blocked or a replacement for parental supervision or safety systems. OS behavior and settings can affect it, and you can revoke access. Music availability can change with licensing or technical constraints.
9. AI features and your decisions
Local and cloud AI can propose plans, task steps and explanations. Output can be inaccurate, biased, incomplete or unsuitable. Review suggestions before applying them; you remain responsible for your choices. Lume does not guarantee improved productivity, wellbeing or any particular result.
Cloud planning and Ask Lume are Plus features where available and require explicit in-app consent to the data transfer described in the Privacy Policy. Requests go through our server to OpenAI. Separate consent is required before eligible behavioral findings are shared. Health and cycle data from Lume’s integrations stay on the device. Do not include sensitive information in cloud prompts. Providers, usage limits and supported features may change subject to your consumer rights; local fallback does not promise an equivalent cloud result.
10. Previews and features marked Soon
TestFlight, beta and preview features can be incomplete, change or be withdrawn. A feature marked “Soon” is not available merely because it appears in the interface. We do not promise a release date unless expressly agreed. Keep appropriate copies of important data before using a preview. Statutory rights and any express commitments still apply.
11. Acceptable use
Do not use Lume unlawfully or violate privacy, intellectual property or other people’s rights. Do not distribute malware, attack the service, abuse AI, circumvent payment, access limits or App Attest protections, or access systems without permission. Do not copy, resell, modify or reverse-engineer the app except where law or an applicable open-source license permits it. Legitimate security research remains subject to applicable law; report an issue privately to our contact address without exposing other people’s data.
12. Lume materials and feedback
The app, website, design, mascot, artwork, sounds and branding belong to us or our licensors. Your personal-use license does not grant redistribution rights in those materials. Third-party and open-source licenses remain applicable.
If you voluntarily send suggestions, you permit us to use them to improve Lume without an obligation to pay or implement them, to the extent lawful. This does not transfer your planner content or permit us to publicly identify you from private feedback without permission.
13. Availability and service changes
Online features need a connection and can be affected by maintenance, outages, device compatibility, region, language, permissions and provider availability. We may reasonably update features and technical requirements for security, compatibility and improvement. We will give reasonable notice of material reductions to a paid service where practicable and provide any remedy required by law. Mandatory update, conformity and consumer obligations remain in force.
14. Stopping use and restricting access
You may stop using Lume at any time, export or erase data, remove the app and separately cancel your subscription with Apple. We may restrict online access proportionately for material breach, abuse, security threats or legal requirements. Where practicable, we explain the reason and allow correction; urgent protection may require immediate action.
Restriction does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription or remove statutory refund rights. Terms that must continue by their nature, such as ownership, outstanding lawful obligations and dispute provisions, survive termination.
15. Service limitations
To the extent law permits, Lume is provided “as is” and “as available” without guarantees of uninterrupted operation, error-free suggestions or fitness for a particular purpose. This does not exclude any express promise, statutory warranty, required digital-service conformity or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing requires you to waive consumer rights.
16. Liability
Where permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen when the agreement was made. This limitation does not excuse our own duties under mandatory law, including applicable duties to protect data or supply a conforming service.
Nothing limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where liability cannot be limited, or any other non-excludable liability. Mandatory consumer remedies and compensation rights remain intact. Your responsibility for reviewing suggestions does not remove our legal obligations.
17. Claims caused by unlawful use
Only to the extent your law permits, you are responsible for reasonable, proven losses from third-party claims directly caused by your intentional unlawful use of Lume or intentional violation of another person’s rights. This does not cover loss caused by us, ordinary use, or the exercise of your legal rights. We will notify you and allow a reasonable opportunity to respond; no settlement may impose an obligation on you without your agreement. Mandatory consumer protections prevail.
18. Governing law and disputes
The agreement between you and the operator is governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts competent under applicable law may hear disputes. This does not deprive you of mandatory consumer or privacy protections, or access to a mandatory court or remedy, in your country of residence.
Apple-required terms, including the Standard EULA’s applicable governing-law provisions and terms between you and Apple, prevail where required. Moldovan law governs the remaining operator-service agreement. You may contact us to seek an informal resolution, but doing so is not a condition for exercising legal rights or bringing a claim.
19. Changes and interpretation
We may update these Terms for service, security or legal reasons and will publish a new effective date. We give reasonable advance notice of material changes on the website or in the app where practicable and required, and request agreement when law requires it. Continued use signifies acceptance only where lawful; silence alone does not replace required consent. If you disagree, you may stop using Lume and cancel with Apple without losing mandatory remedies.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue only insofar as lawful. Not enforcing a right immediately does not waive it. Neither language version is intended to reduce rights granted in the other; mandatory law governs any unresolved ambiguity.
